by now they are very sensitive to the speed they adverstise.. by saying its 384kbps since that is the standard 3G/WCDMA speed.. but if you are in 3G/HSDPA/UMTS area , the USB dongle can support more than 384kbps up to 1mbps if allowed by the network 3G

as for the Phones, the speed is limit according to the phones features.. some 3G phones goes only 384, some 3G phones can support UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA 1mbps,3mbps or so...

the cheapest 3G is LG worh 6K with only 384Kbps features

the dongle is 4,5K that can support HSDPA and HSUPA UMTS

    :)

so...eto panlaban nila sa visibility hehe...ayan na naman 7x faster than dial-up: 53 kbps (fastest possible speed sa dial up) x 7 = 371 kbps. tapos konting round off to nearest power of 2...hehe instant 384. that assumes nasa ilalim ka ng nakakabaog na cell site, the ideal place. ang speeds normally sa visibility (me prof me nakaganun dati, ang BAGAL magconnect nung PC card/modem) 10-20 kB/s.

daming umaangal na nga sa smart bro sana di to parang ganun :) pero ayos...wala ba silang system na kung pede mong gamitin yung sarili mong phone tapos bigay nalang sila config instructions :p

    sana de potol potol :)

matagal na ata tong service nila na ganito... i dont know really kung d2 sa pinas eh ngaun lng...

kc gamit ng father ko smart sim card on his laptop... pag sa kanila sa switzerland mabilis daw un abot nga 1mbps+ pero pag dating d2 sa pinas... mabagal daw... and i saw it when hes using hes laptop...

the cheapest 3G phone is LG which is 6K

    most 3G phones are expensive

    the dongle is only 4.5K

the difference is that the dongle USB modem is really a 3G UMTS device capable of handling UMTS HSDPA and HSUPA

the Phone 3G features will be vary on models and type an LG for example can only get 384 3G.. while expensive Sony Ericsson can have HSDPA of up 1-3Mbps.

all 3G devices like the dongle, requires SIMS since the technology uses the same mobile techonology

yes you can use any 3G phone like USB prepaid.. like me I have LG Ku250, i can alternative use my SMART 3G prepaid Internet for my other PC. the catch is I cannot use the PHone and do 3G surf at the same time

so with the dongle it will be for the surfing only

10 pesos per 30 minutes is reasonable in my opinion considering the main users here are people on the field...

if you want to access important data or email, 10 pesos is very cheap in my opinion considering you don't have to find a computer shop or go home in order to go online...

The speed is really determined by the remaining allowable traffic since the main priority is calling and gsm, tama ba ako master duhwho? since like its gprs counter part, HSPDA still in the third party function of the network. Unless they have dedicated service for HSDPA and GPRS.

I really need this kind of connection since I travel alot and only lappy works for me..:)
