    Truth About PORT FORWARD
Note: This is based on my Experience and Knowledge, any comments are well accepted.
Myth: "When I port forward my torrent download speed getting faster?"

Port Forward: Port forwarding, sometimes referred to as port mapping,[1] is the act of forwarding a network port from one network node to another. This technique can allow an external user to reach a port on a private IP address (inside a LAN) from the outside via a NAT-enabled router.[2]
    Source: wikipedia.org

Port Forwarding doesn't SPEED UP YOUR TORRENT DOWNLOAD. but actually it's just letting the router to pass the connection of a certain port request directly to a unit/computer which needs it. For example you have to computers:
    PC 1 =
    PC 2 =
    Router =
    Port = 8080

You have a webserver installed on PC1 which uses port 80.
So, a user outside your LAN tries to access your website which uses port 80 BUT there are two computers connected to your Router. So, in order for the Outside user to connect to your WebServer you need to port Forward port 8080 to PC1. While the request will be sent by the router directly to your Webserver and not having any conflicts with PC2.

if your hardware supports WDS, then use WDS to connect to wireless routers..

ask ko lang kasi I be making my purchases next week...

my mobo supports giga lan... my ISP is only 1.5mbps and will be shared to 11 units. Do I need to buy a gigalan router and giga switch. Or since bandwidths here do not really exceed 100mb for the basic plans can I do with just my 10/100 router then connect it over a 8 or 16 port giga lan switch to take advantage of my gigalan mobo and boost LAN game performance?

  6. @genexide
Supported po cya ng WDS. Papano po? :) Eto yung model ng Router ASUS WL-520GU. Tnx and Gud day :)

Two ISP Provider in one Network

    Network Connection Properties

    Internet Protocol TCP/IP Properties
Set all Client's Ip to static then Click advanced.

    Advanced Settings
now click Add Default gateway and add your Globe modem's IP

Note may depend on your ISP just take this as a reference

  11. @lordmight

pede rin po ba dalawang ISP dalawang wireless router tapos isang LAN lang?

    Sir LM,

    Nice guide!

Slight typo: yung IP address na (LAN IP of router) should not be used on any client PC as their IP address. Dapat sa gateway nalagay...

  13. bro sa ganyan na setup naka series lng yan cla.. so if 2nd switch mo sira.. im sure yung 3rd switch mo walang data papasok.. ok naman kung maraming vacant slot router mo dun mo nlng e connect switch mo.. same prin naman result nyan.nasa isang network parin yan.. IMHO i dunno if sa ganyan na setup lalo gagrabe yung traffic..

  14. Sir, based sa alam ko.. matatawag yan na modem router if yung binigay na equipment sau ng ISP mo. may extra ports. yan. no need kana mag lagay ng \router pa.. pwede na switch n agad..

  15. Sir, sa ganito na situation nmn.. usually ma dedetect yan ng router mo yung modem. e try mo DHCP.. yan kc kadalasan set-up

    if not posible

    - may mali sa arrangement ng wire connections sa UTP cable mo dapat kung straight thru connection.. both tip of the cable are the same color coding arrangement

    - pag ok naman UTP cable mo.. posible sira ang port ng modem or sa router (either factory defect)

what do you mean di madetect ng modem mo ang router?

try mo muna kung umiilaw yung LED indicator ng WAN ng router at LAN ng modem. pag di umilaw, do waht amfoi said. check the cables.

kahit di ka na mag join sa homegroup as long as you can ping the gateway or any of the PC dun sa network mo.

all you have to do is to do proper crimping, then kung wala kang router or any system based units to act as DHCP servers gawin mong static IP lahat
