^^Yes, it is possible for someone else to clone your MAC address. Alam ba niya MAC address mo in the first place?

WPA or WPA2 with PSK, combined with MAC filtering...

hala baka ikaw yung kapitbahay namin.

Kung ganon, then kahit na malusutan niya yung MAC filter mo, pero pinalitan mo na yung WPA key mo to a strong one, you'd still be very safe.

If your wifi router supports logging, then regularly check the logs too, for any unusual occurrences of your own MAC address (i.e. connection attempts) at times or dates na hindi ka naman actually nag-connect...

If someone is sniffing in your network, he/she can get your MAC address and use it so that he/she can have access even your filtered your MAC.

I will give you a scenario...
You are connected to your WLAN, someone who has the knowledge of basic monitoring can do the job, like installing Netstubmler or Kismet. While you are in your WLAN, he/she can see can you, your Local IP, MAC..etc...then he/she can copy it use macchanger and its done.

best practice for home is, Disable SSID broadcast, Mac Filtering and WPA-PSK2.

PS. Make sure that your pass-phrase is not a dictionary word. If that man has the knowledge and enough collection of dictionary words, he can crack your pass-phrase in a matter of hours...also regularly change your pass-phrase...

You can do this if your router supports adjustment of its antenna power (transmit power). Just lower the power level to reduce the radius of the hotspot.

I think routers with Tomato firmware has this option.

^^Yes, as do some desktop models with their default firmware. Even the Aztech DSL605EW CPE has it on the unrestricted OEM firmware. ;)

ok lang na naka-enable yung MAC filter (set to allow) and naka-enable yung WPA thingie ng router, right? so if anyone wants to connect, as long as alam nya yung WPA password, makaka-connect pa rin sya? tama po ba pagkakaintindi ko?
