Liberty Telecom 4G WiMax MANILA, Philippines - After a 2-month free trial, Liberty Telecom Holdings Inc. is set to commercially launch its WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) service in the Philippines. Liberty is expecting its WiMAX and Internet broadband services to bring the company back to profitability, as these are seen to account for more than 90% of its sales and subscriber base. Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. was the first to deploy WiMAX as a cost-efficient alternative to cable and digital subscriber line (DSL) in bringing wireless broadband access to the public. WiMAX can provide speeds of up to 1 Mbps, which is 33% faster than commercially available Wi-Fi services. Source: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/business/01/ ... ax-service
Motorola Wimax yata gamit nila... they have entered into service agreement in the deployment, installation etc.. with Motorola Philippines for the so called broadband services... hmmm.... lets see and wait if they can be alternative solutions hehehehe
yup! motorola sila na wimax... di ako nag try ng FREE TRIAL kasi sabi sakin ng sales agent, 700Kbps lang ang nakukuha niya...which is good parin his located at mandaluyong. Na disappoint ako nung sinabi niya na 1 palang na BASE STATION gumagana LOCATED @ Makati.. Eh pano yan dito ako LITEX
this is their chance to make it big so they better not blow it my suggestions 1. low price 2. guaranteed speed or rebates 3. wide availability 4. short lock in period 5. availabe in USB format globe wimax still has problems so they better learn from globe's mistakes or the free market will eat them alive
asanes ka sa kanila pero i think they can be better... since their president is non other than boy martirez former head of smart mobile division for a long time.. he is one of the brain behind putting smart to top after competing with globe and islacom back then in GSM war hehehehe
The pre-4G technology 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) is often branded "4G", but the first LTE release does not fully comply with the IMT-Advanced requirements. LTE has a theoretical net bitrate capacity of up to 100 Mbit/s in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink if a 20 MHz channel is used - and more if Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), i.e. antenna arrays, are used. Most major mobile carriers in the United States and several worldwide carriers have announced plans to convert their networks to LTE beginning in 2009. The world's first publicly available LTE-service was opened in the two Scandinavian capitals Stockholm and Oslo on the 14 December 2009, and branded 4G. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asxYJw7w ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTX4ixta17E Eto po ang mas malapit sa 4G Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has announced its plan to conduct a regional trial of LTE technology in Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore in collaboration with Optus, Globe Telecom and Telkomsel. Six network vendors have been invited to participate in the LTE trials: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei, NEC, Nokia Siemens Networks and ZTE. The trials, which are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2010, will take place over a period of six to nine months. LTE base stations and core network equipment will be installed for detailed field tests that will evaluate the features and end-to-end performance of the technology, which promises a peak speed of 340 Mbps. Tests will be conducted for a wide range of scenarios and conditions, including different frequency bands and urban environments. By coordinating the LTE trials across the region, the Group says that it aims to optimise the resources used and gain better technical insights through knowledge sharing. Mr Lim Chuan Poh, SingTel's CEO International Group, said: "The LTE trials are an example of the strong cooperation between companies in the SingTel Group to develop products and services for the region. "LTE will open doors to new and more powerful mobile solutions that will transform the way our customers across the region live, work and play. The regional trials underscore SingTel's commitment to offering our retail and enterprise customers more innovative services that are at the cutting-edge of technology. "With our footprint of regional associates serving 273 million customers in eight markets, we are in an excellent position to drive the adoption of LTE technology in the region and beyond."
yeah, AFAIK because it does not fully comply with the 4g standard, some people call it 3.9 G but hey, its just about as fast as 4g
KUng 1mbps lang ang kaya nila 3G lang po yan...Kahit ang LTE na 2011 or 2012 pa ang rollout sa atin di pa fully 4G
its throttled. Yugatech once was allowed to test globe wimax with a special unthrottled account. Kungbaga sa CPU, engineering sample 8 mbps ang speed http://magos-biologis.blogspot.com/2009 ... 8mbps.html wehn I said magkalapit ang speed ng 4g and 3.9g I was talking about the theoretical max speed not the actual speed kasi as you can see, the ISP can throttle it to whatever speed they want but acc to wikipedia, dapat between 34 Mbps and 1 Gbps ang wimax http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WiMAX
Hmmm... As expected, may capping din siya (even with "Unlimited" plans): Alam kasi nila na maraming abusadong users! Hahaha. Maganda at malinaw na from the start, for fairness.
wi-tribe has no prices or speeds or length of lock in period on its website (unless nakatago and di ko nakita) to know if your area is connected, you have to give your name, address, contact number, etc etc bakit kaya napaka secret? may tinatago siguro
di pa kasi live... pag live na sila.. they will provide info or details about their plans and availability they need to test the water.. they need to know if they can beat the odds hehehehe
mga sir! INFO. about wi-tribe: Lock in period: minimun of 6 months, But if you want to have free modem 24 Months. MSF: 988 po
well, they could have mentioned that in their newspaper ads kaya pala walang details. teaser trailer kungbaga
988 for 1mbps oh crap thats 1% of what 4G can offer ... hehehehe so whats the big deal if you are on 4G? less congestion? less dropouts? even at 1mbps? hmmmm
