as far as i know the nw LED TV's are already HDTV starting from any screen size. the old LCD ata yung ibig mo sabihin sir but the LED TV Category HDTV ready na lahat.
@livewire yep, tama po sir, i was talking about the LCD. nde ba automatic na HD ready na ang LCD tv pag me HDMI port sya? btw, how reliable yung TV box ng cdr-king?
so far doing well sir, been using it sa tv box sa office for about 1 year before ko nilipat sa pad ko its still working fine. remote control countless times na nahulog but still alive and kickin. i was shocked that cdr-king products could withstand such torture lalo na si remote. about naman sa HDMI ang pagkaka alam ko its just a courier to send better digitial signal from the DVD/CD/BR player to the LCD TV compared to RCA which still has noise. HDMI carries both digital audio and video.
On paper palang napaka lamang na ng LG - black levels and whites, color vibrance and of course response time (think, console gaming) Toshiba 32AV700e HD Ready - 1080p (24/50/60Hz) through HDMI 50,000:1 Intelligent Backlight Control <--- Better but the 50,000:1 makes it "MEH.." 8ms 4 HDMI Ports - considering the screen's size pang high end na feat. LG 32LD460 FULL HD - 1080p <-- better 100,000:1 <-- better 4ms <-- better Optical Out <-- better HDMI ports <-- Not stated sa site pero kahit dalawa or even isa lang it's still the better TV. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In terms of brand there won't be a winner. Sony mahal nga pero 2 years naman ang out of the box warranty. Try mo bring 1080p movie such as Avatar and switch both TVs into "Movie" mode and pick the one with the best PQ according to you. Personally I'd pick the LD460 sa response time palang alam mo na which is better... @Sir livewire U got PM
ano yung PQ?
hi guys,, tagal ko din hindi naka login, back read na lang ulit mamaya.. sobrang naging busy lang po lately, my new TV just arrived 2 days ago, and on way na to Pinas.. just got this during the Black Friday Sale... (same post i have in tpc btw) i just paid USD 525 for the shipping to phils inclusive of all TAXES and FEES. still very cheap compared to selling price there in manila at about PHP220 for this unit, in SnS. nakatipid ako ng about PHP 100K.. thanks.. @sir ojpd...naku sir, hindi ako guru when it comes to HT ..hehehe,, addict lang talaga sa setup..
hi guys was thinking for sometime now but then di ko masyado naiisip dahil busy sa work untill this topic arised. i just got a new pad and as you see i posted my alternative way of setting up my system. (LCD Monitor, External TV Tuner, Standard Sky Cable Connection and an HT for the audio). after giving it some though i signed a two year contract with my landlord and would like to beef up the entertainment area a bit. My wall can't accomodate more than 42" LCD LED TV so im stuck with the size which already quite big for the size of my pad. So definitely am going for an LG LED TV (Infinia). Ano recommendation nyo as substitute for a Portable Media Player like Popcorn, am sure there are better brands out there than popcorn or xstreamer. The TV Comes with a 1000watts BR Home Theater system so no problem with the audio na Portable Media Player nalang that can play multiple HD File Format and easy to configure.
This is my personal idea lang... since you already have an external tv box from cdr-king. You can hook up your pc from there... PC-VGA_out to cdrkingtvbox-VGA_IN/RCA_IN and cdrkingtvbox-VGA_out/RCA_out to LCD Monitor. As for the Media Player, there's an Xtreamer whichs supports multiple containers/formats and WDTV Live supports also multiple formats, but not as many as the Xtreamers. Wifi and Lan capable narin yung dalawa and both have 2 usb ports. okay din support ng dalawang brand for firmware upgrades... there's also a different brand that function as the same as the two mention above kaya lang bihira sa market unlike yung xtreamer and wdtv live na madali mo makita sa store/shop... both supports din yata ng 1080p movies at they uses the Realtek/SigmaDesign8635 or newer chipset which is better for my taste and budget. There's a an affordable media player "guys, who's tight on a budget like me" like nbox n82 which also supports HD and base on amlogic 8626h chipset. Xtreamer and WDTV Live ranges from 5k-6k while the nbox n82 sells only for 2.5k! unless kunin mo yung mga higher models nila na which quite expsensive na for me to acquire.
