[HELP]WiFi Router and Smart myBro Wimax

Discussion in 'General Topics' started by seishinui, Nov 29, 2012.

  1. Location: Nangka, Marikina
    Connection: Smart Wimax 1mbps

Yung Wimax device eh yung outdoor version na MT711x by MediaTek at powered through PoE (Power Over Ethernet).

Try cloning the MAC address of the working PC on your DLink router.

  3. Hi josekym, thanks for the reply.

I tried that, on the DD-WRT, I cloned the laptop's LAN MAC address to the WAN port MAC address and still not acquiring any IP.

Thanks.

Change your routers IP address I think it is in conflict with your wimax modem

  5. Hi athenaxds,

I would try that, and just to make it clear you want me to change the router's IP address in range of the Wimax's IP, right?
So, the D-Link would have the address like 192.168.15.2 since the Wimax have 192.168.15.1 right?

Pwede ko idisable yung DHCP ng Wimax since allowed naman when using the "smart" non-admin/root account, also pwede din mgset ng static DHCP using MAC address at yung IP address na gagamitin ng MAC na yun.

I would try this later, itry ko muna if yung static DHCP setting eh gagana when I use it at iprovide ko yung MAC address ng laptop.

This is what I meant if your smartbro wimax has a current IP Address of 192.168.15.1 you would want to use a different IP Address for your router then it could be the default which 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.254.254

If they both have the same IP Address like this one 192.168.15.1 you won't get any connection because of double NAT conflict.

Could you post here the details or the IP Address your computer receives when it is connected to your wimax modem.

  7. On default settings (Wimax device) I have this:
    Code:
    IPv4 IP Address: 192.168.15.2
    IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    IPv4 Default Gateway: 192.168.15.1
    IPv4 DHCP Server: 192.168.15.1

    IPv4 DNS Servers
    -121.1.3.88
    -121.1.3.20
    -121.1.3.250
DHCP address range of the wimax is from 192.168.15.2 - 192.168.15.254

  8. *BUMP*

I am thinking of using a switch on this setup. Anybody has a thought?

I could have tried a different router (possibly a latest one with 802.11N) but I do not have one and cannot borrow someone else router. If anyone is near around the said area and willing to test their routers, feel free to post.

  9. I have the same problem on my DIR-600 ddwrt flashed too. I've been using this router on my smart canopy and it works fine. I've just migrated from canopy to smart wimax outdoor type last week and suddenly encountered this problem.

did you try to setup "static connection" sa wifi router mo ang address na lumabas sa smart wimax?

    try this sir
take note all the details sa smart wimax pag nirekta mo sa laptop. "ipconfig /all" command. dapat working ang net.
    IP, Gateway, DNS etc.
pagkatapos yan ang gamitin mo i-setup sa router wifi dir-300 as Static Connection.

    ano sa tingin mo?

  11. yes, i tried it static as well.. and not working..

have you tried a different router? i can't because i do not have another one..

meaning.. sa wifi router talaga ang problem. did you try other ways like router hard-reset?

  13. i don't think so tol, gumagana yun sa smart canopy, dsl modem/router at sa mga switch/hub, nkafactory firmware man or dd-wrt. 30/30/30 reset is the cleanest way para ireset and dd-wrt, 5 seconds nakahold yung reset button sa factory firmware is enough.

like i said, kapag smart canopy, dsl (globe man or pldt) router/modem kahit sa mga switch/hub eh nakakaacquire ng WAN IP, even router to router, linksys at eto nga na d-link.

anybody nakapasok as root access ng wimax device? kasi need ko din magforward ng port para sa utorrent since nakadisable ang UPnP ng wimax device. pano ko nakita? ssh using PuTTY at using "smart" both sa username at password kaya lang wala yung root access at guest account lang.

^^ ganito ba ang layout na gusto mo?
    smartbro>>router-wifi>>laptop

hindi ba makapag connect yung laptop sa router-wifi using wifi access?

dapat mag work iyan as static connection. hindi maaring hindi ;)
your smartbro is acting like a modem.. at tatangapin dapat ni router-wifi ang static/dynamic ip connection galing sa modem.

kung ayaw "lawsi" ang router-wifi mo.

  16. is there any other setup? i don't think the wimax device can transmit wireless signals para makaaccess ang laptop (or any wifi-enabled device) sa net access given by the wimax device... kaya nga gagamit ng wifi router to have wireless access.. :p

sir, if words can make this happen, i won't be posting here.. :p

sa dynamic connection, ganito mangyayari tama?
wimax is giving 192.168.15.2 - 192.168.15.254 range.. so dynamically, dapat makaacquire si d-link (wifi router) an IP within that range. just to sound realistic, si laptop is acquiring the 192.168.15.2 na IP na nakalease for 1440 minutes (1 day), then unplug ko sa LAN port ng laptop at kuha ako ng another laptop, so technically, si laptop 2 is getting 192.168.15.3 which is normal kasi nakalease pa yung isang IP kahit na wala na yung gumagamit for now.

so going static, cloning one MAC address, plugin ko si laptop 1, so nalease na yung IP ok? hindi ko irereset si wimax device, plug ko si router that has the MAC cloned dun sa laptop 1. logically, wimax device would think through MAC na bumalik yung naglease sa kanya. same IP na naacquire ni laptop 1 ang nasa setup ni router since static nga. result? not working.

clean settings ng router, meaning off ang dhcp ng router at no nat. either static or dynamic is wala pa rin. walang problem sa wifi router, simply because kakagamit/kakatry ko lang un with a smartbro canopy, adsl modem, switch/hub in a network at nakakaaccess sa net ang lahat ng clients through that router.

its very simple as sir athenxds says....

ok, just ignore wimax ip range dynamic. now change the LAN settings IP ni (wifi-router i.e 192.168.0.1 dhcp enabled) wag mo sabihin na si laptop sa lagay na iyan hindi maka connect sa wifi-router mo? :)

  18. sir, point ko lang yun for the dynamic part. by default, hindi within the range ng wimax device ang router since like you said in the above post 192.168.0.1 yun dhcp enabled. i can access yung router either by LAN port or wireless.

    wimax device: 192.168.15.1
    d-link router: 192.168.0.1

walang problem sa router sir, as i said pwede ko yun gamitin and still can access the internet, yun nga lang hindi ko bahay yun.. haha..

maari mo bang kalikutin si wimax, sometimes they use mac bind to preventing people access to their routers kung may option si wimax na mag clear ng mac address gawin mo.

    DHCP mode: None/Server/Relay
    Start IP at End IP
MAC address tapos yung IP within 192.168.15.0.

wala ba others jan na may root access.. hehe
