CPU heatsink as fan

Tech Guys,

Pls confirm nman if pwde ko pag-dug2ngin ung 4-wire (black-yellow-green-blue) connector ng old Intel CPU heatsink ko with the 4-wire connector (yellow-black-black-red) ng floppy? Need ko lng gmitin sya as fan n lng for additional cooling ng old 2005 CPU ko. Pwde b un? Pinalitan ko n kc ung heatsink ko after mabali ung clip for mobo seating at the same time ngpalit din ako ng power supplly-- the problem is very limited (5 only) ung molex connectors ng ng PSU n nbili ko, kya naisip ko n i-direct connection n lng.

Wala kabang Case FAN Power Connector Sa Motherboard mo.

 

pag bumili ka ng fan, may 2 molex connectors yun. 1 male, 1 female. pwd mo ilagay lahat ng fan mo sa isang molex connector lang. series mo na lang sila

 

r u referring to a chassis fan connector? d ko kc n-chk dun s manual ng mobo ko, if that's the case, then dun ko n lng sya ipa-plug-in... tnx.

 

Yap, May Controller payan at Temp Monitor depende sa Motherboard mo.

 

occupied n kc lhat ng molex connectors ko ble: 1 sa IDE HDD, 1 s AGP card & 3 s fan (back, front & side). D ko ako familiar s series n cnasabi mo, ble baligtaran b ung ggwin kong pg plug-in? male then female (alternate)? gnun b? Tnx 4 ur advice!

 

afaik yung 4pins connector ng procie is +12v, gnd and the 2 remaining is for the tachometer for monitoring the speed of the fan para maiadjust nya yung speed (correct me if I'm wrong mga sir) kaya kung ikakabit mo sya sa ps connector ng floppy hindi sya pwede dahil yung ang sa floppy is 5 & 12v respectively (w/ 2gnds).... wala syang connector para sa tachometer.

 

5 lang ba yung 4pin molex connector mo sa PSU? kung bili ka ng Y-splitter 4pin molex hindi pwede? anu ba yan CPU fan na balak mo ikabit sa PSU as the source for power? check mo kung ano volts required.... sa PSU kasi 5v saka 12v at saka ground yung 4pin molex connector... kung 3wires ang cpu fan mo hindi mo magagamit yung isang wire for sensor pag kinabit mo sa PSU.... magiging palagi siguro naka set sa max yung fan mo...

 

Just determine which is the +12V and GND wires on your fan, then connect/splice those directly to the Yellow (+12V) and Black (GND) wires respectively from the main lines supplying the molex connectors.

Oh, and your title is off. You'll actually be using the fan, and not the HS? Heheheh.

WAG PWM ung sa CPU Fan kaya 4 May Temperature Sensor iba ung sa 4pin ng Floppy Ground +12v +5v un puro kuryente pwede kung 12V + ground lang pero di ung 4 better use molex than direct

 

pwede, yan ang gamit ko sa iba kong PC. make it sure na 1 is to 1 ang pagka hinang, wag mong sundan yung kulay, sundan mo yung position.
