Carrier Grade NAT

  1. Guys any idea here if PLDT DSL or their Fibr service uses Carrier Grade NAT?

    taken from Wikipedia
Carrier-grade NAT (CGN), also known as large-scale NAT (LSN), is an approach to IPv4 network design in which end sites, in particular residential networks, are configured with private network addresses that are translated to public IPv4 addresses by middleboxnetwork address translator devices embedded in the network operator's network, permitting the sharing of small pools of public addresses among many end sites. This shifts the NAT function and configuration thereof from the customer premises to the Internet service provider network.

Carrier-grade NAT has been proposed as an approach for mitigating IPv4 address exhaustion.[1]

  2. Guys I noticed the published IP whenever I do speedtest.net is set to 112.207.x.x but but but!!! whenever I check my modem's dashboard, A0's IP (i'm assuming this is the WAN IP) is at 100.90.255.x. Baket ganun? Heto ba iyong tinatawag na Carrier Grade NAT?

Yan din problema ko, di ako maka-remote access to our office, alam nyo pano work around nito? DYNDNS approach wont work. Please help.

  4. Same problem here! One lineman promised to call the tech dep to get me out of private ip. It onlynl resulted in a weeks time loss of internet connection.
Hikvision has a proprietary workaround: Hik-connect.
Remote access islimited only to where the hikconnect client is installed and the device is registered. Configuration access is limited unlike before cgnat where even on a pisonet, i can do remote access and have full control of the device.
My most urgent problem now is the deteriorated upload performance and the increased latency of my plan 999 dsl.
