Conficker also installs fake antivirus software
by Elinor Mills, cnet news, April 10, 2009
Researchers have discovered another feature of the Conficker worm that provides an additional clue about the intent of the creators--the worm installs malware that masquerades as antivirus software, Trend Micro said on Friday (April 10, 2009).
The worm, which has infected millions of Windows-based computers on the Internet, is downloading a program called Spyware Protect 2009 and displaying warning messages saying that the computer is infected and offering to clean it up f ...

The batteries could be used to power small electronic devices such as cell phones and MP3 players. In the future, they could also be used to power automobiles. The M13 virus used to create the batteries infects only bacteria, so it is harmless to humans.
The recent discovery builds upon research ...

- In the Netherlands, meanwhile, it charges 80 euros ($107) for 120 Mbps service and 60 euros ($81) for 60 Mbps.
- In the US, cable companies, like Comcast and Cablevision, that are moving quickly to install the fast broadband technology, called Docsis 3, are charging as much as $140 a month for 50 Mbps service.
